Building An Email List From Scratch: 12 Best Tools You Need
Email marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business. Building an email list from scratch is not difficult. Think it as a FRESH start!
But to start building your email list in a right and strategic way and most importantly faster, you need a help of email list building tools.
Common, let’s get serious… if you want to grow your email list quicker and faster then you need to use tools, you cannot collect and save every single email manually. And that is when my favourite list building tools come in picture.
Below is the list of Recommended list building tools you can use during list building process.
Landing/Squeeze Page Software
1. Leadpages
This is one of the best ways to create a landing page, squeeze page, blog page, thank you page, webinar registration and a whole lot of other things.
Leadpages will integrate with your existing website or you can simply have the pages you create there hosted by Leadpages.
You can easily link your landing page with your email marketing/CRM tool.
I am recommending Leadpages because I personally use them and it works like a charm.
You can design your pages in less than 10 minutes.
Email Marketing Software
1. GetResponse
GetResponse is a very user-friendly email marketing tool. You can easily create emails, newsletters and autoresponders.
They are offering 30 DAYS’ FREE TRIAL. Thus, you can put your hands on it and decide later if you like it or not.
I personally use them in my business but I am in the process of migrating to ActiveCampaign.
Nothing wrong with GetResponse but I am migrating because my requirements have changed over time. My business is growing and some of the features I need such as Automation which GetRepsonse is not providing.
They have 24×7 – 365 days customer chat service available (This is the best thing, Trust me…)
2. ActiveCampaign
Activecampaign is a great CRM/Email marketing tool out there. If you are interested in Automation and Email marketing together then ActiveCampaign is for you.
It offers a wide range of useful features and tracking options and is also easy to use and inexpensive even for the smallest businesses.
There is a 14-DAY FREE TRIAL PERIOD with ActiveCampaign. Try and see if this is something you are looking for.
3. Aweber
Aweber is another great email marketing tool. If you are a beginner and not interested in GetReponse or Mailchimp then Aweber is the tool you can ask for.
It has the similar features to GetResponse such as ready built email templates, drop and drag email building feature, email capture forms and autoresponder.
It comes with 30-DAY FREE TRIAL PERIOD so you can start and see if this is the email service provider you are looking for.
4. Mailchimp
Mailchimp is a very popular email marketing tool, I have used it in the past.
They offer FOREVER FREE BASIC ACCOUNT but if you want to use autoresponder then you need to start monthly subscription plan.
I didn’t stick with them because I got better customer service with GetResponse than Mailchimp.
Lead Generation or Email Capture Software
1. MailMunch
If you have a WordPress site then you can use a FREE MAILMUNCH WORDPRESS PLUGIN; with a free version you can only use certain themes but honestly speaking even the free version is a great and sufficient enough to get you started.
With MailMunch, you can create a pop-up form, Top bar form, side form.
You can do most of these things with LeadPages too.
I personally like to limit MailMunch usage only up to my blog section. I want to collect the emails even when someone is coming to read my blog and to do that I take an advantage of pop-up form, Top bar and side forms.
2. Sumome
Sumome is one of the best tools to build and grow your email list, it is similar to MailMunch but Sumome has got some other cool apps to help you increase and grow your website traffic. They do have WordPress plugin, so if you have a WordPress site then installing and start using is easy peasy.
Sumome is a free tool, they do have the paid versions of each app with more robust features but honestly speaking free version is more than enough to start with.
Advertising Platform
1. Facebook Ads
Facebook Advertising is an incredible advertising platform. Facebook is a data mining factory. Facebook advertising is easy and user-friendly.
Using Facebook advertising you can reach your audience faster and cheaper. Facebook advertising is inexpensive and effective compared to other advertising platforms.
Using Facebook ads you can target your audience based on their interest, demographics and retargeting.
2. Google AdWords
Google AdWords is a great advertising tool. This is probably the place most people start with online advertising. Google Adwords works best if you know which keywords you are targeting and have a little bit of understanding of keyword research.
3. LinkedIn Ads
LinkedIn advertising works great for B2B. The quality of traffic and leads or email subscribers you get is tremendous. Any B2B must try and experiment with LinkedIn advertising.

1. Fiverr
Fiverr is a great place to get small things done for $5.
